Checked out the breakfast buffet . They had a nice variety and our waitress did a great job! The scrambled eggs and sausage were not very good for the price. There is an option for ordering eggs made to order for extra cost. Itβs a convenient option for folks staying in the Lodge.
Overview
Fire & Grain At Hershey Lodge is one of those spots that instantly makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. Located at 325 University Dr, Hummelstown, PA 17036, United States, this restaurant combines a casual yet sophisticated dining experience with a menu that caters to both classic favorites and inventive twists. On my first visit, I was struck by the warm ambiance: exposed wooden beams, comfortable seating, and a lively open kitchen where you can actually watch chefs in action. Itβs rare to find a place that balances comfort with attention to detail so well, and Fire & Grain manages it effortlessly.
The menu is extensive but curated with care, featuring everything from hearty sandwiches to fresh salads and wood-fired dishes. One standout experience I had was trying their signature flatbreads. The crust was perfectly crisp, while the toppings-locally sourced vegetables, artisanal cheeses, and thoughtfully paired meats-were bursting with flavor. I noticed that the restaurant emphasizes seasonal ingredients, which adds a fresh and dynamic quality to the menu. Itβs clear that a lot of thought goes into ingredient selection and preparation. According to a recent survey by the National Restaurant Association, restaurants that prioritize locally sourced ingredients often receive higher customer satisfaction ratings, and Fire & Grain definitely reflects that trend.
For those who appreciate craft beverages, the drink selection is equally impressive. They offer a variety of local beers, seasonal cocktails, and a carefully curated wine list. On my visit, the bartender recommended a cider that paired wonderfully with the smoked chicken entrΓ©e. Watching them mix drinks with precision reminded me of the level of professionalism often highlighted in hospitality industry research from the American Culinary Federation, where technique and presentation are as valued as taste.
Service at Fire & Grain is another reason it stands out. The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic, able to explain menu items in detail and offer personalized recommendations. For example, when a guest asked about gluten-free options, the server not only explained which dishes were suitable but also described preparation methods to avoid cross-contamination. This level of attentiveness builds trust and encourages repeat visits.
The restaurantβs location within Hershey Lodge also adds a unique advantage. Guests can enjoy the convenience of on-site dining while exploring Hershey attractions, making it perfect for families or travelers looking for a complete experience. During a recent visit, I noticed multiple families and couples enjoying their meals, which speaks to the restaurantβs versatility and appeal.
One of the methods they use to enhance the dining experience is an open kitchen concept, which subtly educates diners about culinary processes. Watching chefs handle ingredients, manage cooking times, and plate dishes with precision offers an unspoken assurance of quality and transparency. It also reinforces trust, as guests can see the care that goes into each meal.
Reviews from visitors consistently highlight both the food quality and the friendly environment. Many point out the thoughtful presentation of dishes and the balance of flavors in entrees and appetizers alike. This matches my own observations: every bite felt intentional, and the menuβs structure made it easy to explore a range of tastes without feeling overwhelmed.
For anyone seeking a restaurant in Hummelstown that combines quality ingredients, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Fire & Grain At Hershey Lodge is a strong choice. Whether youβre stopping in for a quick lunch, a casual dinner, or a celebratory meal, the combination of comfort and culinary expertise ensures an enjoyable experience every time.

We ate here on the morning of Sunday, September 21st, before our departure. We elected to do the buffet but were also informed that we could order omelets and eggs to order at no additional cost. With that, we each ordered an omelet and got a selection of baked goods, fruit, breakfast potatoes, and breakfast meats from the buffet. We also ordered coffee, and the server brought a full pot and 2 mugs for us. This was perfect. All tasted good, and the buffet has a wide selection. Whatever you're in the mood for, you'll be able to find. Friendly service and a warm, inviting atmosphere right off the lobby of the hotel. We've eaten here for both breakfast and dinner during our various trips here and have always had a positive experience. Recommended!
We stopped by for a weekday breakfast and it was delicious. Our waitress was wonderful too. Prices are a bit high for what we ordered but you can't beat the convenience of having it in the hotel. Lovely decor throughout the restaurant, too. Would love to come back to try the breakfast buffet and lunch/dinner. Would definitely recommend.
Breakfast buffet. Been going here for years right before the park. Its a good buffet, lots of stuff to pick, basically what you would expect but a higher quality. Servers have always been pleasant, and it's a nice place. The mini chocolate muffins are really good
FABULOUS. Must order the Tuscan Spiced Lamb Chops entree and the Short Rib entree...unbelievable and the sides with both are amazing. When in Hershey..you should order chocolate and .the chocolate peanut butter mousse cake didn't disappoint. Yummy Our waitresses Desiree & Autumn were amazing. Great personalities, knowledge and professional. A great spot to dine in Hershey with a beautiful gas fireplace for atmosphere and nice wine selection. We cant wait to return next month on our return from Florida. Keep up the good work Fire & Grain.
This past November 11, 2025, I was treated to a lovely birthday dinner compliments of Hershey. My daughter and I chose their restaurant, Fire and Grain and were not disappointed. Right from our first steps, we were greeted by their host, Mike, who took "extra steps" to be sure we were able to sit at a booth per our last minute request and then, our server Michelle, was so very attentive going above and beyond to make us feel so very special. Sincere thanks to both of them. Our compliments to the Chef for an incredible dinner that was so very delicious and so generous that two more meals were provided the next day at home from that one dinner! The atmosphere is beautiful...but what is more beautiful is the entire staff we met prior, during and after our meal! It's no wonder, Hershey is called the "sweetest place on earth" with such darling employees! We will be back...thanks to all for a memorable evening! Lainie & Nika Belcastro
